Quick recap for those who may not be fully updated on the story..

The CurrentKittyHouse is officially sold. Mr. Kitty signed papers this afternoon. We're moving this Saturday, and since I'm unemployed I've been assigned the task of packing everything up (though, to be fair, Mr. Kitty is gracious enough to let me leave most of the bureaus and desk drawers intact, which is saving a goodly bit of time). The Palacial Estate is, of course, so very far from being complete it's laughable. Once we sold the CKH we focused on getting the master bedroom and master bath finished enough for us to live in (read: the sub-flooring is in, but not the tile.. the backerboard is installed in the shower, but not the tile.. there's primer on the walls, but they're not painted..etc, etc, etc.). Most of our stuff will be stored in the garage, and the framers will return to work on the house once they've completed the restaurant project they're on. So let's see. Mr. Kitty, the KittyPups (3 of them), and I will be living in a 22'x24' room for, oh, about the next 3-4 months.

::sigh::

Moving sucks. Moving into a place that isn't finished sucks BIG TIME. And this packing stuff is really, really getting me down. I don't want to leave this house. I love this house. I've lived here for almost six years, longer than I've lived anywhere other than the house I grew up in. Don't get me wrong, I love the Palacial Estate. And once it's completed it'll be a fab place to live. But I get ridiculously attached to inanimate objects, and I keep thinking of the horrible things that'll happen to this house when we don't live here anymore. Who's gonna go looking for the spring litters of wild bunnies? Who's going to make sure that the hawthorne tree gets pruned so it doesn't wind up poking peoples' eyes out? Are the rental people actually going to appreciate the figs and pecans and blackberries and wild strawberries that grow here? What's going to happen to the huge maple tree? And the squirrels, and the chipmunks, and those cute little birds that build nests every year on our side porch? Gods, I hate this.

Can someone give me a hug, please? ::sniffle::
