Jun. 9th, 2003 08:53 amI got a kitty!! He's a hand-me-down, but he'll do. :D
A friend of HMcHH coworker moved into a new apartment and couldn't keep him, so I am now the proud, vaguely annoyed, owner of Hermes, a pretty grey 1yo (neutered! yay!), mostly outdoor kitty-cat.
Brought him home last night and let him out of the carrier; he made a beeline for under the bed and cowered for a bit. He came out for pets for a little while, and then right back under the bed. I turned in around 10:30; at midnight I wake up to a **thump** and a kitty paw landing on my head. ::grumble:: We let him crawl around the bed for a few moments, but when it became quite clear that he was more into exploring than settling down I exiled him to the other side of the house.
He's settled in nicely at this point- hasn't had an accident yet (also hasn't used the litterbox yet.. weird) but he's **awfully** whiny. Meow, meow, meow, meow. Pet me, dammit. Stop what you're doing and PET ME NOW. Reminds me of someone.. ;) We'll keep him in the house til he's figured out this is home now, then let him out to explore his new world.
Off to buy official kitty supplies!!
