Weddings. Ugh.

As you all know, my stepdaughter is getting married next month (day after my birthday- no heavy drinking for me!). Well, I need a dress. And while I'd love to show up in something Truly Hideous ( ;) ), I figure if I'm going to the trouble of spending my money I should be able to enjoy it. So.. voting time!!

Color, in case you're wondering.. I'm leaning toward red or hunter green. Bridesmaids are wearing purple, and BM doesn't know what she's wearing yet but it'll probably be "plum".

And if you picked anything other than #1, should I get the additional shawl, or no? I figure it'll give me something to dig my fingernails into and hide KittyBelly...

Oh God I love #2. I don't know about for a wedding though.

At my daughter's wedding I was basically forced to wear Peach. Yes Peach. I found a 2 piece dress in a nice subtle brocade fabric but I had to change the awful gaudy buttons on it and hem it and and make it more of a straight skirt than an A line but other than that it fit right off the rack.

And because I am nothing more than the Eeeeevil Stepmom who has no role whatsoever in the event, and since I have yet to get any information on the wedding proceedings as far as dress code (or, really, anything else), I say I get to wear whatever the hell I want. And what I want to wear will NEVER include a butt bow. ::grin::

Details in the devil. Will it be an outdoors event? If so, please do avoid satin. You will die from heat. Is it at night?

I don't vote for the black gown.

If you buy number one or two, you *have* to wear your hair up. Could you get one or two in black, and not red? You would look stellar in black. Oh, wait: I know you do, for a fact.

I'm leaning toward #2, although I ***LOVE*** #1. I might pick up the halter version of #1 anyway, then invent an occasion to wear it.

Awww. ::blush:: Thanks, luv. And if I get #2, it'll be in hunter green. I think the collective God-fearing attendees would kick my ass if I showed up in black (okay for an evening wedding, but not this one).
