Kids called. Finally. ::rolleyes::
SS's excuse: he was at encampment for the CAP program, and it was late when he got finished with drills. Never mind that late is still better than nothing, that he could've called *before* he left and explained that he wouldn't be able to call on Father's Day proper, or that he could've easily gotten to a phone between then and now.
SD's excuse: didn't have the phone number. Never mind that she's called that line before when she needed something, that her mom has the number so all she needed to do was ask for it, or that Mr. Kitty's parents- someone else she talks to on a regular basis- have both Mr. Kitty's and my number. Bad choice, as far as excuses go.
Anyway, it turns out SD is in town, has been for a couple days. ::grumble:: She and SS want to stop by the house later (4-ish). I'm still pissed (in fact may be even more so since they came up with such LAME excuses, but really I'm too tired and sore to do an emotion check). How should I behave?
A) Pretend like nothing has happened.
B) Be civil, but distant. Monosyllabic, if necessary.
C) Be civil, but prepared to rip them a new one if the opportunity presents itself.
D) Give them a chance to act contrite, then explain in very small words exactly what I think of their excuses and why I'm so upset.
E) Do what kitties do best.. hide and/or ignore them.
I'm leaning toward E, but C will do in a pinch. What do y'all think?
